‘Melt Me Into The Sea’ is the first solo show from Chris Bury.

The paintings were made in response to visiting Turkey as a heatwave swept across Europe in 2022. People swarmed to small coastal beaches to feel their skin burn and sizzle in the sea.

Surrounded by fantastical environments, the paintings show anonymous figures collapsed in time and expressive in posture. Like waking hallucinations or a dream warped reality. The world over heating, whilst ice cream and the ocean called to them for reprieve.
